CAPE's 35th anniversary gala is a celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander talent in Hollywood, with a special focus on Randall Park and Manny Jacinto. The event, presented by Lexus, will take place in Downtown Los Angeles on October 3rd and will be hosted by Deli Boys breakout Asif Ali. The gala will also feature indie band Chanpan, with additional honorees and host committee members to be revealed later.
Randall Park, a veteran performer with credits including Fresh Off the Boat, Aquaman, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Veep, WandaVision, and Audacity, is a familiar face to CAPE. He was previously honored by the organization with a new writers award in 2011 and is an alumnus of CAPE's programs. Manny Jacinto, known for his work in Del Boys, is also a recipient of CAPE's recognition.
CAPE CEO and executive director Michelle K. Sugihara emphasized the significance of this anniversary, stating that the organization has been dedicated to creating opportunities and driving change for Asian and Pacific Islander talent in Hollywood since its launch in 1991. She highlighted the importance of celebrating the contributions of Randall Park, Manny Jacinto, Asif Ali, and Grace Dumdaw, the lead singer of Chanpan, who have all played a part in CAPE's history beyond their individual careers.
